What is the job for me ? - The question ‘what is the job for me’ is not an uncommon question to ask yourself during the course of your working career.
Our career advice service will help you to be able to answer the question ‘what is the job for me’.
We combine our unique knowledge of how to match personalities to jobs or careers together with an in depth knowledge of current and future job opportunities in the northwest region of England and Manchester to answer your question of ‘what is the job for me?’
Knowing what job you want to do is not necessarily an easy question to answer. You may automatically think the job which you have possibly done for years and years is the right job (and you may be correct), but you need to be satisfied that this is truly the job that you want to do.
Changing your job in a totally different career may just be the right thing for you to do. You may not have realised that a total career change is just what you actually needed to do.
If you have asked yourself ‘what is the right job for me?’ then the chances are that you need to seriously consider changing your job and career. Don’t limit which jobs and careers you consider for your next job move – keep an open mind when thinking of a new job or career.
Remember that as part of our career advice service that we recommend you change jobs at least once every three years.
As part of our process to help you choose the right job we take you through all of the current job opportunities where you live as part of our Careers Support.
Starting at a high level of careers and industries we begin the process of refining your careers options around those that interest you the most. It is possible that we start to consider careers that have interested in the past, but that you have previously ruled out for other reasons that no longer apply to your circumstances.
After potential careers have been identified then individual jobs in these areas can be considered. At this stage of the refining process we work with yourselves to always cross check ‘what is the right job for me’ with what jobs are being highlighted during our refining process. This helps to keep the job and career search focused on what you have identified as ‘what job is right for me?’
In our Back To Basics approach we will start by asking yourself to write down some of the following :-
- What interests you the most in your life?
- What are your personal strengths?
- What are your personal weaknesses?
- Who do you admire the most in your life and why?
- What motivates you to want to go to work? (e,g, money? Job satisfaction?)
- What compromises are you prepared to make to get a new job?
As we go through your answers we will be able to build a profile for yourself and help you understand How do I find a career.
